The Lafayette Township Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Cenatiempo as Superintendent / Principal of the Lafayette Township School District.

 

Mrs. Cenatiempo brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the district. Mrs. Cenatiempo’s teaching experience includes working in the Wyckoff School District, the Westwood Regional School District, and the Ogdensburg School District. Mrs. Cenatiempo’s administrative experience includes working in the Sparta Township School District, West Milford School District, and Woodland Park School District. Over the past six years Mrs. Cenatiempo has served as a language arts specialist and elementary school principal.

 

A graduate of Wallkill Valley Regional High School, Mrs. Cenatiempo earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Kindergarten Education from The Pennsylvania State University. Mrs. Cenatiempo earned a Master of Science in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University. Mrs. Cenatiempo earned a second Master of Education in Educational Leadership from William Paterson University. Currently Mrs. Cenatiempo is working towards the completion of her doctorate in Administrator Leadership for Teaching and Learning through Walden University. The focus of her dissertation is the enhancement of student achievement in literacy via parent training and empowerment.

 

While the Lafayette Township School District has much to be proud of in terms of the academic success of its students, Mrs. Cenatiempo has a variety of critical skills that will support the continued success of this high performing school district. Mrs. Cenatiempo has expertise in many areas including curriculum development, data driven leadership, special education, and instructional leadership.

 

At the board meeting held on June 28, 2016 Mrs. Cenatiempo was approved to officially begin her service in the Lafayette Township School District. Mrs. Cenatiempo shared at the board meeting, “I am honored to have been selected to lead in such a dynamic school and community. The teaching staff and community have been so welcoming. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year for our students, teachers, and community!”

 

The appointment of Superintendent of Schools marks an exciting time for Mrs. Cenatiempo as a professional educator and member of the Sussex County community.
